UFC 239: Allen vs Melendez Odds, Preview and Pick

Arnold Allen (-350) vs Gilbert Melendez (+265)

Arnold Allen (14-1) could be one of the greatest boxers that you have not seen before and the odds certainly suggest oddsmakers are taking him seriously against Gilbert Melendez (22-7). Allen tends to fly under the radar somewhat as he has only fought once per year because 2014, but if he does fight, fans are in for a treat.
Allen is somebody who lets his game do the talking and that he doesn’t tend to be a personality pre- or post-fight, which can hurt when it comes to advertising. He’s making an attempt to be more active as this is already his second fight in 2019. He comes into this bout undefeated at the UFC with a 5-0 record with just two performance of the night awards to his credit.
Gilbert Melendez, 12 years older than the upstart Allen, has been through wars with nearly everybody in the UFC. Melendez has no issue diminished, entering the fight on a streak. It’s never a good sign when a fighter should step away from the game to locate their love for it again. After his last struggle, he did just that, but I have very real questions about the motivation of Melendez, that hasn’t won because 2013.
This will be the biggest battle of Allen’s career and when he has a wonderful showing, it should vault him to the top 15, finally. He’s well versed and has shown an ability to accommodate to the struggle in front of him.
Lately, he has given away a number of his strategy already, stating:»I am ready for anything, I’ve had all sorts of fights. I’ve been in dull fights where nobody will get hit and you end up winning without getting touched, and I have had fights where I have been in small brawls, type of grinding struggles, so I will be prepared for whatever he brings. I’m just going to outpoint him, outskill himand going for a bit better than him at the evening .»
I concur, and Allen should point-fight his way to a decision victory, but he needs not to devote to Melendez, who will desire a kill-or-be-killed firefight.
