Parry to leave Liverpool at end of the season
Rafael Benítez will not let the pending departure of chief executive Rick Parry distract Liverpool from their attempts to win the Champions League and the Premier League. The Liverpool manager was responding to the decision of Parry – chief executive for 12 years – and the club’s American owners to part company today.
Parry will leave at the end of the season, but with Liverpool on the brink of reaching the Champions League quarter-finals after the outstanding first-leg win at Real Madrid this week, and with belief still that they are in the title race, Benítez wants off-field politics to take a back seat.
“We have three months now of very, very important games so we must concentrate on that,” he said. “We must be positive, work together and do what is best for the club. Our relationship has been good, professional. In terms of the personal relationship it has been good, because we both want the best for the club. I do not see the Authentic Prada Leather Handbags situation as a power battle. The owners have decided to do this, now we both have to work together. I am sure that Rick, myself and the owners will do this until the end of the season.
Earlier, in a statement released by the club, Parry said: “I Black Prada Bag Mission Impossible have had 12 very exciting years at Liverpool and am extremely proud of what has been achieved by the club over that period. Parry has been at the centre of long-running disputes with Benítez over the club’s transfer policy, and with the co-owner Tom Hicks over Liverpool’s commercial operations. Benítez has so far refused to Are All Prada Products Made In Italy sign a new four-and-a-half year contract, due to Parry’s involvement in transfer business at Liverpool. The manager wants that influence addressed under the terms of any new deal. He has also, latterly, not been assured that he can walk away from Anfield should any change of ownership occur. Hicks called for Parry’s resignation last year, a demand which was resisted by his co-owner, George Gillett, who had remained in agreement with the chief executive over transfers until recently.
Parry’s statement continued: “It has been a privilege to serve the club and as a lifelong supporter I wish the owners, Rafa, the players and Authentic Prada Shoes For Sale the wonderful Authentic Prada Shoes For Sale staff all the very best for the future. I will be leaving at the end of the season knowing that the club remains strong and with a set of supporters who deserve success in all that Liverpool does.”
The statement included tributes from Hicks and Gillett, despite the former having Agatha Ruiz Dela Prada Shop Online been Authentic Prada Outlet Online Uk anxious to remove Bicester Village Prada Refund Parry from his position for over 12 months. Gillett is continuing to search for buyers for his 50% stake in Liverpool, a quest that is likely to have influenced Parry’s departure “by mutual consent”.
Hicks said: “Rick’s commitment to Liverpool is epitomised by his desire to ensure that this transitional period is managed efficiently and we are grateful to him for his help. He will always remain a friend of the football club.” Gillett added: “I would like to thank Rick for his significant service Authentic Prada Purses Sale to the Club and the assistance Best Prada Outlet In Italy he has given us since we joined Liverpool. The club’s commercial director, Ian Ayre, will be among the front-runners to replace Parry.
