New Orleans Saints @ Los Angeles Rams: ‘Bad blood’ in new NFC rivalry

Among the NFL rivalries is in the spotlight on Sunday If the New Orleans Saints are hosted by the Los Angeles Rams , Only live on Sky Sports Action and Main Event.

Here is exactly what to expect…
On this week’s Inside The Huddle podcast, NFL Network reporter Steve Wyche shared the Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan explained to him:»All that smoke we have for our opponents Atlanta – that is going to the Rams.»
Among the newest rivalries of the NFL stems out of two thrilling encounters last year – and most of the conversation around them. Following New Orleans came on top of a 45-35 touchdown-fest in the normal season, Saints head coach Sean Payton singled out Rams cornerback Marcus Peters as somebody they looked to exploit.
Those comments did not sit well with Peters, who said after the match:»Inform Sean Payton keep speaking that s***, we’re likely to see him shortly. You believe me?
«I liked what he had been saying on the sidelines too. So I will inform [him]’Keep talking that s*** and I hope you visit me shortly. You feel me’
«And we’re likely to have a really nice little bowl of gumbo together»
Despite the two playing it down in the build-up to an NFC rematch in New Orleans, the Rams winning in controversial fashion – a blown no-call on a pass interference preventing the Saints from getting a late first down that may have won them the match – Wyche has stated the»bad blood» is most definitely still there.
Can Blackmon pointed out :»The [Saints] took the beat way too private, however. The country resisted!» Indeed, there was a suit filed against the NFL within the no-call, however, was subsequently dismissed before the period.
Last Monday night, the Saints (1-0) opened their season with a 30-28 thriller – and also ancient match of the year candidate – since they toppled the Texans having a last-second Wil Lutz field goal.
Drew Brees orchestrated a surgical 35-yard push with 37 seconds left to get his team.
Los Angeles (1-0) travelled to Carolina and held off the Panthers 30-27. Todd Gurley had a quarter and managed 101 yards on 15 bits despite Malcolm Brown vulturing 2 touchdowns.
Jared Goff did not possess his best evening (23/39, 186 yards, one touchdown, 1 choice ) but he tossed a fourth-quarter score and the defense stepped up when it mattered most.
It is a joy to watch these head duos in actions, also about the two situations, Blackmon and Vince Young expressed their thoughts on ITH.
Young explained:»I watch Drew Brees winning MVP this year. I still see the old man out there slinging that chunk communication still in fantastic shape and directing his staff out to battle each year.
«You see that at a great deal of quarterbacks but there’s something quite unique about Brees to me and that I have a great deal of respect for him.
«I am just happy to see he is still going as him Sean Payton’s chemistry is performing well – getting touchdowns and getting the guys a lot of wins.»
Meanwhile, Blackmon lauded that the Rams’ attack, stating:»I believe Jared Goff and Sean McVay’s connection is phenomenal. You’re able to see the growth that is immediate from when the work was taken by McVay there. Immediately, the team became.
«I had the joy of playing in Washington if McVay was the offensive coordinator and he had the same connection with Kirk Cousins.
«We’re watching McVay about the play-call – plus he’s about the headset speaking to Kirk all the way down before the last second with what is happening and what to perform.
«Eventually it took some time for Kirk to accept ownership – because the one complaint for him was: once the play broke down, what to do today?
«Kirk finally began making that adjustment by himself, and also the identical thing with Goff eventually starting doing this on his own too.»
We can expect you to be a shootout, so which player from defense can step up and be a difference-maker? Rams linebacker Cory Littleton’needed a day’ weekend, racking up two passes defended 14 tackles, a fumble, plus also a fourth-quarter interception. Can he do it?
Also, in the NFC Championship game, Gurley had only four rushing attempts for 10 metres. His capacity to tear through defenses – and – keep Brees could be key. On the other side, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas can’t be allowed to run riot.
