James Forrest: Celtic winger positive despite not scoring in Kilmarnock win

James Forrest abandoned Celtic Park on Sunday wondering just how he didn’t score, although scottish Premiership leaders maintained their three-point lead with a win against Kilmarnock.
The Hoops winger struck the woodwork twice and was denied several occasions by Kilmarnock goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu, maintaining him.
After the brace and Ryan Christie’s finish of Odsonne Edouard curved off a comeback victory for Celtic, Forrest considers the chances generated by the Scottish champions was a sign.
Forrest stated:»Their goalkeeper was appropriate up for it straight from the start and he made a great couple rents.
«He made us work for your aims, but it’s always hard against Kilmarnock, home or away.
«There are a few games at the season if you have one opportunity and you score.
«Then there are ones such as yesterday I had four or five chances, but it just didn’t occur.
«However, it shows you are playing well and with confidence whenever you’re receiving tons of opportunities. If you keep doing the perfect things the goals will come.»
Celtic have won their first six league games turn their focus with Partick Thistle on Wednesday to their Scottish League Cup quarter-final and to sit three points clear of Rangers.
Forrest added:»Ever since we arrived back into pre-season we have been to lots of places in different competitions.
«We are on a good run and we had a great win on Sunday.
«We’re back here on Wednesday and it is another major match, » the quarter-final of this [League] Cup, therefore we need to get ready and move again.»
